Maxima Ultragreen leader material is the original green monofilament! A bit old fashioned...and cheap....but still a favorite of many. In our estimation, this is still a staple tippet (and butt section) material that is often overlooked these days. Kits up with the Maxima Leaders as well which are Chameleon butt sections and Ultragreen tippet.

Though often attempted, no other manufacturer has duplicated the exclusive color and characteristics of Ultragreen. This is a great all-around leader material for freshwater leaders. It is fairly soft and limp, yet retains Maxima's legendary tough, high durability finish for superior abrasion resistance. In addition, Ultragreen is virtually invisible under water, particularly in fresh water, a feature that makes this line an ideal choice for leader/tippet material.

We use Maxima Ultragreen for building basic leaders...but works especially well for butt sections on dry fly and nymph leaders. THE choice for building leaders for sinking lines as well.  For streamer, bass and saltwater we do prefer the slightly stiffer Maxima Clear for the butt sections but this can be great as your tippet being a bit more supple. This is also a traditional favorite of Salmon and Steelhead anglers. It is the material of choice for the legendary "Chuck-n-Duck" rigs often fished in Michigan.

Maxima Ultragreen is sold here in the 27 yard leader wheels. Recommended is the 3" Sharktooth Tippet tenders as the rubber bands that come with the spools are pretty much useless.
